These can be arranged for groups of more than 10 people.

The kayak trip from the Slippery Creek to Hingaia Bridge is around six km of normally calm shallow water.  The trip will follow the tide meaning that paddling is assisted.

We start each trip with a summary of our basic kayaking rules, we give you a map of the river and explain in detail exactly where you are going. For new-paddlers and rusty-paddlers we also give you basic paddling instruction. Then fit you out with a comfortable buoyancy aid, take you to the river, put you into your kayak – set you up and off on your journey down the river!

When doing the downriver paddle you will leave from Slippery Creek and head toward Hingaia.  The trip is leisurely and winds through lowland swamp and then estuarine waters.  The final stretch of water under the bridge can be swift and will add excitement to the final part of the journey.  The waters are working waters, and you will see birds busily fishing, and the odd fisherman on the way.

Once you have got to Hingaia a courtesy coach will return you to Slippery Creek. The basic one way trip from Slippery Creek to Hingaia will take up to one and half hours, though with briefings and transfers allow at least three hours for the trip.  Drury has a range of eateries and accommodation including the iconic “Murphy’s Law” tavern.  There is also a choice of coffee shops for your caffeine fix.
